F.R.I.E.N.D.S. Reunion

The Comeback to make a comeback

Great news! Valerie Cherish is set to make a comeback after HBO announced that it was to go into production for the show’s 10 year anniversary.

The Comeback stars Lisa Kudrow as Valerie Cherish, an actress trying to get back into showbiz. It is a mockumentary format with a great supporting cast and Kudrow’s spot-on comedy timing. Some of it is hard to watch as Valerie gets knocked back time and time again, but at the same time it is hilarious.

The original series only ran for 13 episodes and HBO have only committed to a further six for now, but still it’s great to know it coming back. Season 1 is available to watch on YouTube. If you’re not hooked by episode 1, stick with it, because it gets really good and you grow to really love Valerie.

Oh to be happy and carefree…

This clip makes me yearn for youth again. Something about this husky running madly through a pile of leaves reminds me of my yoof and being told not to run through leaves (for fear of treading in dog shit – really? come on!!). This dog looks to be having the time of his life and reminds me of Phoebe’s running skit in Friends. Run like no one’s watching! Jump! Flail about! Dive bomb! Perhaps I have become Rachel and need to veer a bit towards Phoebe’s outlook on life. Leaves…here I come!

Web Therapy

I can’t praise this internet tv show enough. I stumbled upon it a few years ago when looking at Lisa Kudrow’s IMDb page and have followed it ever since. Lisa Kudrow is a comedic genius in my opinion and these webisodes are a great show of her talent and far removed from Phoebe Buffay’s quirky silliness. Sponsored by LStudio, Web Therapy has so far had three seasons and has a strong list of guest appearances by the likes of fellow Friends star Courtney Cox as well as Alan Cumming, Meryl Streep, Molly Shannon, Jane Lynch and many others who you might not recognise by name but you’ll know them by face.

Fiona Wallice is a therapist who tries and convicts her patients via a short 10 minute web therapy session over a webcam. Her methods are at best selfish, contrived and always have some underhanded agenda with or without her patients knowledge. She is a cool, dark and calculated character and Lisa Kudrow deserves more acknowledgement for this brilliant web series. I dearly hope this returns for a further fourth season. Each webisode is a mere ten minutes or so and the banter is so quick-witted and sharp. Wallice has a razor-sharp and icy tongue and watching the bitchiness unfold is sheer brilliance.

Infectious Laughter

Following on from my Jane Lynch post the other day, I feel urged to now post this. I love YouTube for providing me with daily laughs to perk me up from the daily grind. Here is a collection of Phoebe Buffay’s bloopers from Friends. Lisa Kudrow has one of the most infectious laughs I’ve ever heard and is guaranteed to have you chuckling along too.

My Friends Got Married

Cutting the cake

On Saturday, my dear friends Caroline and Jeremy got married. Thank you for letting me be part of your special day, it was truly a fantastic event (despite the rain) and I wish you many years of happiness together. Enjoy the honey’moooooo’n.
