Veep

God, I love Veep and I have a bit of a thing for Julia Louis-Dreyfus. She’s awesome – watch Veep for proof!

Is it me, or is American politics just cooler than UK politics?! I can’t imagine Maggie Thatcher, Neil Kinnock or Gordon Brown aping themselves like this.

Timelapse: Albuquerque Balloon Fiesta

This is a quite spectacular time-lapse video of a hot air balloon festival. You are never too old to appreciate a balloon (or several hundred!)

It’s also worth checking out Roadtrippers.com’s YouTube channel as their other videos are pretty great too!

See The Real Models For The Archer Characters

Archer

If you’ve not seen Archer before, I highly recommend it! Archer is a secret agent working for his mother’s agency ISIS. He is brash, obnoxious, a charmer and outrageous! The characters are hilarious, every single one of them.

What’s also great about this show is the animation. It’s Sterling work!

I stumbled on this webpage which shone some light as to where the animators get their character work from.

P.S. This show is definitely NOT for kids.

Avenger’s Damage to Manhattan

Without giving too much away to those who’ve not yet seen the brilliant Avenger’s movie, there is quite a bit of damage done to Manhattan in the final action sequences. Disaster experts estimate the cost of the damage to be in the region of $160 billion. Nice job Avengers! Must try harder, tut tut!

New York Timelapse

This is a remarkable work of art. The hours and effort that must have went in to create this New York City time-lapse leave me in awe. It captures the essence of such a frenetic city so well and the choice of song works brilliantly too. Brings back lots of great memories from holidays past. What an amazing city!

I Heart America

There are lots and lots of FAIL videos on YouTube and this one celebrates the United States Fails. Hilariously funny. Remind me never to do a flaming Sambuca EVER again!

Don’t feel bad America, there are a whole load of other countries available on twisternederland7‘s YouTube Channel for the whole world to enjoy (except for China of course, where YouTube is banned).

It Gets Better

After a spate of teenage suicides in the US, a new awareness initiative has been endorsed by several prominent celebrities to bring light to the troubles and stigma affecting youngsters struggling to come to terms with themselves. I applaud those behind the scheme in their efforts to help impressionable youngsters who may be questioning their sexuality. The issue of suicide amongst all young people must be dealt with equally and I am very much supporting this new initiative as a way of promoting equality and understanding. There are many more high-profile celebs promoting this cause, please Google ‘It Get’s Better’ for more info. A worthy cause indeed.

Capturing New York

This video does a fantastic job in capturing the essence of this beautiful and vibrant city. New York is not my home, I have lived in London my entire life, but for some strange reason, be it social conditioning through film and television or a fantastical dream of living in the city that never sleeps, I have an affinity with New York City. I’ve visited the place only twice in my few years, but long to be able to experience it as a local. In my visits, I’ve got a taste of what it might be like to be a New Yorker and got a sense of the feel of the city. This video really illustrates the small nuances and subtleties that might pass some by, but highlights the small beauties that help make NYC what it is. The iconic views, the people and the vibrancy. I can’t wait until I get to experience it again.

Again, as with my previous post, some Flash-less devices may not be able to load this content but be sure to check it out on a PC when you get the chance.
