OVERVIEW

Another fascinating video documentary over on Vimeo.

This one marks the fortieth anniversary of the famous photo of Earth taken from space. The planet was likened to a ‘blue marble’ and became an iconic photo.

This documentary looks at astronauts experience of seeing the Earth for the first time from space.

Felix Baumgartner

Check out this new footage of Felix Baumgartner’s amazing skydive from the upper reaches of our planet’s stratosphere. What an extraordinary feat and what a strong stomach Felix must have!

Doomsday

Watching The Skies

So the end of the world came and went without anything happening back on the 21st December 2012. But when is the next forecast of doom scheduled for? Such a positive posting this is, but quite an interesting read nonetheless.

Walking On Air

This is a beautiful video filmed by astronauts onboard the International Space Station of our amazing planet. How lucky they are to get a first hand view like this, one that only a very small minority of us will ever get to see. It might be a little cliched, but when you see the Earth from this view doesn’t it make you wonder why there are so many people fighting over such silly things? It also makes me want to take better care of our planet. Maybe more people will get the chance to see this view when Richard Branson’s space tourism flights begin. Maybe he’ll have a cheap return ticket Ryanair-style?!

Earth | Time Lapse View from Space | Fly Over | Nasa, ISS

Amazing time-lapse photography of the Earth from a camera mounted outside the International Space Station. Look out for the lightning strikes and the aurora borealis.

Earth & Our Solar System

A video of what some of our neighbouring planets would look like if they were as close to us as the moon. Amazing stuff! I always thought Mars was a lot bigger and yet Jupiter is insanely beyond what I thought it was. The solar system is fascinating and something I love to learn about. For recommendation, watch Wonders of the Solar System by the BBC if you can. It’s amazing and very informative in a digestible way.

Love – Trailer

This film looks like it might be amazing!

As trailers go, this left me feeling optimistic and enthralled… I hope the film lives up to its  promise.
