They’re back! But then, did they ever actually go away? Those classics ‘Boom, Boom, Boom, Boom’ and ‘We’re Going to Ibiza’ never really stopped playing in your head!
Yes, it’s come to the end of the 2014 World Cup. I stopped watching after England went out but I hear there have been several more matches since then. Quite a lot more matches actually as England were shit and went out very early on.
To celebrate the end of the tournament, here is the Vengaboys new single ‘2 Brazil!’. It’s NSFW by the way in case the image below didn’t give that away!
So the end of the world came and went without anything happening back on the 21st December 2012. But when is the next forecast of doom scheduled for? Such a positive posting this is, but quite an interesting read nonetheless.
Myself, with friends Clare and Nicola at the Grand Canyon in 2009
I stumbled upon this website today about the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Worth a little look as it showcases some incredible information and useful factoids if you’d like to see some of te wonders for yourself. These include inside tips about where to go and stay, as well as photographic tips about where it has been recommended to go in order to get the best shot.
Also, I’d never heard of Paricutin before reading this and it turns out it’s natural wonder number 3 on the list!
There are also several other lists which offer more wonders per continent.
As of right now (3/1/13) I have seen only one of these world wonders with my own eyes, but with a bit of luck after my trip to within the Arctic Circle in three weeks time, I will have added the Aurora Borealis to my list.
Here’s a novel way to celebrate books on World Book Day (1st March 2012). Artist, Guy Laramee, carves intricate scenes out of stacked up hardbacks. Not quite celebrating the written word but anything that brings attention to books on World Book Day is a good thing. The level of detail in these works is quite something. I particularly like the mountainous scenes that are reminiscent of Chinese paddy-fields; I just hope they weren’t first editions!!
Neat animation to illustrate mobile company Android’s rise to fame over the past few years broken down by continent. Apple may no longer be the monopoly it thought it was with so much competition on the market. I don’t know how this graphic compares to Apple sales but the visuals are pretty striking for Android. Plus it’s pretty to look at 🙂
