Ten Hotels With Incredible Views

Jade Mountain Resort St Lucia

I’m getting itchy feet now and looking forward to my trip to Oslo and Tromso in January and February. Hopefully the Northern Lights will make an appearance for me.

Looking past that, I also have annual leave in March and can’t decide where to go. This little list of hotels with amazing views might influence my decision – although I’m sure they come with an equally amazing price tag!!

Seven Natural Wonders

Myself, with friends Clare and Nicola at the Grand Canyon in 2009

I stumbled upon this website today about the Seven Natural Wonders of the World. Worth a little look as it showcases some incredible information and useful factoids if you’d like to see some of te wonders for yourself. These include inside tips about where to go and stay, as well as photographic tips about where it has been recommended to go in order to get the best shot.

Also, I’d never heard of Paricutin¬†before reading this and it turns out it’s natural wonder number 3 on the list!

There are also several other lists which offer more wonders per continent.

As of right now (3/1/13) I have seen only one of these world wonders with my own eyes, but with a bit of luck after my trip to within the Arctic Circle in three weeks time, I will have added the Aurora Borealis to my list.

Next stop, Rio ūüôā

Enterprise Retires To New York

As the NASA space shuttle program comes to a close, a series of commemorative flybys by the remaining craft are producing some amazing sights as they glide over famous landmarks¬†in¬†the US. Here the Space Shuttle Enterprise flies¬†over New York¬†as it comes to land¬†at JFK International Airport before¬†being retired to the USS Intrepid Air and Space Museum.¬†As one of the women being interviewed says in the news report, it is also poignant that the shuttle was able to fly over Manhattan with cheering crowds as New Yorker’s have taken back their skies. I’m sure Enterprise will be a very popular tourist attraction when it is installed on the Intrepid. It is a sad day though to be sure as it is an end of¬†era¬†for the US and it’s manned space exploration. Hopefully something new is being designed, a space craft that will continue the exciting¬†work¬†of its predecessor.
