Photoshop Transformation Music Video

Photoshop is a great tool, without a doubt, but this French music video highlights the moral implications of its use in society these days. Everyone knows that models and celebrities are ‘Photoshopped’ on the front of magazine covers but I didn’t realise the extent of the tools power. This can be seen in this music video where some French singer warbles on as her face is retouched and transformed from perfectly pretty to a Mila Kunis look-a-like.

I’ve no idea what she is singing about; she could be singing “My face looks so much better Photoshopped” “I worship the power of Adobe” but judging by the tone of the video, I think it’s a statement about how unrealistic and unattainable Photoshop perfection is.

Note: This is not Adobe Photoshop being used in this video. I use the term as readers will generally know of the verb ‘to Photoshop’.

Dolphin Intelligence

Everyone knows dolphins are intelligent, but here’s the proof. A bunch of dolphins in an aquarium in Baltimore have been studying themselves in a mirror showing indications that they recognise themselves – something only a handful of other animals can do, including ourselves. This clearly shows they can think and are sentient. Watch them swim around the mirror, they are able to realise they are seeing themselves instead of another of their species. They can track marks on their own bodies and even stick their tongues out and playfully have fun in the mirror. This is groundbreaking in that it shows how there are other highly intelligent mammals we are cohabitating with and ethical points arise. We really do need to be more aware of our choices towards other animals and show more respect to their well-being. More concern to fishing methods and captivity standards are among the few that spring to mind. Dolphins might be smiling at us for a reason… perhaps they know more than they are letting on, or are able to communicate verbally.

The Chilean Miners

God Bless these Chilean miners trapped underground. I can’t imagine what these guys, and their families, are going through. I truly hope this news event turns out to be a testamony of human strength and endurance. The projected forecast of freeing them by Christmas is such a long way off, and as media coverage continues, I hope we can all get behind these individuals to provide moral support. The psychological and physiological demands for these men will be SO incredible, that we must all get behind their plight and keep their moral as high as possible. I will be posting more as the situation goes on. My thoughts and prayers are with you all down there. As the Brits say “Chin up!”
