I’m a fan of the US TV show Parks and Recreation and am particularly fond of the character Ron Swanson. Ron is a man’s man; he likes the great outdoors, survival and making stuff with his bare hands. He dislikes bureaucracy, vegetarians and health & safety. He really is a fantastic character and so I am overjoyed to find out that Nick Offerman, the actor who plays him, is pretty similar to his character in real-life.

Click here and check out Nick Offerman’s Woodshop where you’ll find all manner of handmade wood items, designed and made by Nick and his colleagues.

I also found out that Nick is married to Megan Mullally, Karen from Will & Grace, which makes me like him even more! I bet there’s no *ahem* wooden comedy in their household. Sorry!

Never Step On Gum In The Street

Making nice of something not so nice. This guy is transforming ugly old chewing gum into mini works of art. Check out his Flickr page here for more examples of his work. Who thinks of these things? Clever though…minus the spittle.

Picturesque Merton Abbey Mills

Lovely view next to the Market of the river Wandle. Makes for a nice day out in south west London.
