Amazing Poster for Aliens

At first glance this might just look like a rather fuzzy, low-resolution image of a poster for 80s film Aliens. Take a closer look though. Click here to be taken to said closer look.

The poster is made up of 10, 126 tiny individual images, each of a scene from the movie. Very cleverly done – but you must click the link to fully appreciate it where you are able to zoom in and explore the poster more clearly. As an indcator of how big this image is, it is 8127 x 12302 and 100 megapixels.

Battle: Los Angeles

The trailers so far for this sure to be blockbuster have been slowly building momentum, teasing more and more of the good stuff over the past few months. This last trailer seems to indicate a nice mix of Cloverfield, Aliens and District 9. All these should bring to the mix a great disaster, alien, popcorn flick, although I’m hoping for a stand out, new ground flick nonetheless with a touch of its own something to make it stand out.

Trailer here.

Falling Skies

This looks like it might be worth a watch in 2011. Executive produced by Steven Spielberg and written by Saving Private Ryan‘s Robert Dodat, this is (another) alien invasion story. What’s with all the aliens in 2010/2011? I guess vampires and werewolves are out of fashion [bye-bye Twilight 🙂 ]

This does actually look quite cool and with Spielberg behind it, it should be epic. Staring Noah Wyle and Moon Bloodgood, Falling Skies arrives next summer on US network TNT, and the rest of the world sometime thereafter.

Aliens (pre-school)

Those peeps over in the far east have finally beaten me to the bullet and designed a commercial Alien-killer robot. Damn, I thought I’d get there first. Following on from Tomy’s Mogwai and Fisher-price’s Ewok vaporizer, I thought my angle on Sigourney Weaver’s franchise was mine to behold! Alas not!

I immediately applaud whoever made this and have added it to my Santa Claus Amazon list as a High Priority item. I must have one. “It will be mine, oh yes, it will be mine!”

Check this ultimate Christmas gift out here.
