Offerman Woodshop

Ann: How many drinks of alcohol do you consume a week? Ron: One. Ann: That’s it? One drink? Ron: One shelf. Ann: Do you exercise? Ron: Yes. Lovemaking and woodworking. Ann: Do you have any history of mental illness in your family? Ron: I have an uncle who does yoga.

I’m a fan of the US TV show Parks and Recreation and am particularly fond of the character Ron Swanson. Ron is a man’s man; he likes the great outdoors, survival and making stuff with his bare hands. He dislikes bureaucracy, vegetarians and health & safety. He really is a fantastic character and so I am overjoyed to find out that Nick Offerman, the actor who plays him, is pretty similar to his character in real-life.

Click here and check out Nick Offerman’s Woodshop where you’ll find all manner of handmade wood items, designed and made by Nick and his colleagues.

I also found out that Nick is married to Megan Mullally, Karen from Will & Grace, which makes me like him even more! I bet there’s no *ahem* wooden comedy in their household. Sorry!

Interactive CV

I stumbled across this interactive resume for a chap called Robby Leonardi. What a great idea!

This is much more eye-catching that a boring side of A4 filled with boasting of work achievements. I hope he’s in work because this is truly a fresh approach to job seeking.
