Ten Hotels With Incredible Views

Jade Mountain Resort St Lucia

I’m getting itchy feet now and looking forward to my trip to Oslo and Tromso in January and February. Hopefully the Northern Lights will make an appearance for me.

Looking past that, I also have annual leave in March and can’t decide where to go. This little list of hotels with amazing views might influence my decision – although I’m sure they come with an equally amazing price tag!!

J.J. Abrams :-)

J.J. Abrams

I have a bit of thing for J.J. Abrams. I’ve watched near enough everything he’s produced and am nearly always blown away by his mind. Love Love Loved LOST and stuck with it until the end and was completely satisfied with the conclusion. Alias, whilst being bonkers, was also a favourite. Cloverfield…brilliant fun! When it comes to secrecy, Mr Abrams is known for being a master of it. Deceit, trickery, false leads, false names, everything is kept under wraps waiting for the big release day.

In a break from this, Abrams granted one Star Trek fan the ultimate wish: to see the as yet unreleased Star Trek Into Darkness ahead of everyone else.

Sweet Cat and Dog Story

Just a little video that made me go “Ahhhhh!”

Aside from the horrendous name of the cat, this is very sweet.

American Horror Story: Asylum. “The Name Game”

Loving the second season of American Horror Story.

Producer, Ryan Murphy, injected a little influence from his other show (Glee) into episode ten, entitled “The Name Game” where Jessica Lange’s character broke out into song. Shame it was all in her head as she suffers from delusions following electro-shock therapy.

Quentin Tarantino: ‘I’m shutting your butt down!'”

What an absolute dick!

Sorry to be a hater but Tarantino comes across as a spoilt brat in this interview. He can’t handle these questions which are legitimately relevant to society these days. You can’t deny Tarantino enjoys his violence in his movies. I think it’s also fair to say that there are more violent acts carried out these days as a result of what we see in the movies. Controversial! Just my opinion (and that of a couple of hundred million people).

Krishnan Guru-Murthy is a bit a of legend to me after seeing his interview skills.

Super Slow Motion

I’ve just returned from the Barbican in London having experienced The Rain Room exhibit and discovered my Canon S100’s ‘super slow motion’ function and become a little obsessed by it.

I hadn’t much time to realise that the setting was on the lowest possible resolution whilst filming and therefore the quality is pretty poor for my effort (video number one), but a little investigating found that the cameras capable of delivering higher resolution similar effects costs £1000s and way out of my reach in terms of affordability. And so, here is a collection of an effect that has become a little bit of an obession and more appreciated by me due to its techincality. Enjoy….
